Inc.redible roller baby lip gloss

The first time I had a roller ball lip gloss in my possession, I traded a ham sandwich for it.

And yes, it was worth it

The rollerball lip gloss was on a purple thread and the translucent tube was adored with simple white block lettering. It was as close to owning any makeup and I kept it in my room to show, “Hey, I am a woman with grape scented glossy lips.”

Eventually, like all great things it didn’t last forever. I graduated to my sister’s MAC Lip Glasses and lipsticks, tinted balms took precedence in my backpack and I forgot all about my grape rollerball gloss. I recently was scrolling through Instagram when I came across The INC.redible Roller Baby Lip Gloss and I instantly remembered my first lip gloss. When I had the chance, I jetted into Sephora to quickly snatch up a tube of Rolling Like A Honey, a pink tint with a fruity peach scent.

My verdict: fun, cute but ehh.

The metal ball adds a cooling effect as you slick the product onto your lips. You do have to pass the rollerball a few times in an 80 degree angle to dispense the gloss and build up your desired intensity. The sheen is an slick oil finish but don’t be scared, it’s not oily. It’s comfortable and looks chic, not like you were eating fried chicken non-stop. The scent reminds me of elementary school, artificial peach that can only be described as juicy. I can’t help but rub my lips together to catch the scent of it now and then. There are three different tints and honestly, I couldn’t see this tint on my lips but hey it’s peach! I had to reapply the product multiple times since it would disappear after 15 minutes. For me that takes it down a few notches.

I’m not trying to discourage anyone from purchasing this but I will say that know going into this, it’s a pure nostalgia purchase. And that’s perfectly okay! It may be gimmicky but it’s a heartwarming lip product to have in the bottom of our work bag. A reminder of what it was like to be young, carefree, and not worry about having a 401k. It takes me back to unflattering khaki pants and stiff, white polo shirts, reapplying behind a Spongebob folder.

We’ve grown up, bought ourselves flattering pants, and have a job. While you can still love your YSL and Fenty gloss, you can still have a soft spot for the rollerball. After all, aren’t we all just kids wanting to trade our sandwiches for fun lip shine?
