Herbivore blue tansy REsurfacing clarity mask
There are countless options of face masks to choose from and I have my fair share stashed in my bathroom.
From sheet masks to clay ones, I have it all but there was one that was missing, chemical exfoliation. I was on the hunt on a trip to Sephora, when I passed by the Herbivore section and decided to pick up the Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask. Let me just say that my wallet and I have no regrets. The mask gently exfoliates dead skin cells off the surface layer while gently removing bacteria from deep within pores. The fruit enzymes and white willow bark make up the AHA and BHA powerhouses that allow for a deep and gentle exfoliation. The fruit enzymes, papaya (papain) and pineapple (bromelain), make up the AHA that exfoliates the skins surface. Papain helps reduce redness from acne and clears out blackheads. Bromelain dissolves old skin cells to make room for new ones and reverses radical damage from sun exposure.
White Willow Bark, the BHA, contains salicylic acid to fight acne. BHA works to exfoliate the surface of the skin similar to AHA but it’s added benefit is that it penetrates pores to unclog and control sebum. What makes this mask amazing for every skin type is how tough it works on skin with continued use while being safe for those with sensitive skin. I have acne prone skin and if you deal with the occasional single, large pimple or multiple pimples like I do then your immediate, knee-jerk reaction is to scrub those blemishes away with harsh physical exfoliants. However, physical exfoliants cause more harm than good when dealing with an acne outbreak. Physical exfoliants can create further irritation, inflammation, and potential scarring on the skin. This mask soothes while fighting acne causing bacteria and the blue lapis, derived from the chamomile family, gives a soothing and calming effect on the skin. After three weeks of using the mask, I’ve noticed my texture has even out and less congestion along my cheekbones and chin. I would repurchase again, but I want to know which ones you like?
