Monochromatic Rose
The weather in San Francisco oscillates between freezing cold and ridiculously warm and we’re just ending the month of January.
I’m optimistically looking forward to Spring for new beginnings and hope in general. With this in mind, I decided to manifest positive energy into a sweet and fun eye look for the season using the Lime Crime Venus XL 2 palette. It’s a simple and straightforward look, my specialty, and looks great paired with a neutral or bold lip.
I started by laying down a base with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. With a fluffy blending brush, I went in with the shade In Bloom, a beautiful matte rose shade, all over the lid. The shades in the palette are easy to build up your desired intensity so I went in a couple of times building up the color. I focus on blending into the crease and softening any harsh lines. Using my ring finger, I lightly tapped on the shade Crown, a pink pearlescent shade, onto the inner corners and through the middle of the lid. This shadow gives a wet effect on the lid when the light catches it and reflects beautifully. Using the blending brush from before, I go in and blend Crown and In Bloom together. I finished up the eye look with two coats of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Waterproof mascara.
To top off the look, I reached for Flesh Beauty’s Swipe Flesh Lip Compact in Swollen. I don’t think that Flesh Beauty gets talked about enough and I’m not sure why. I adore their lip products, especially the Fleshy Sheer Lipstick and Lip Compact the most. The multi-use compact in particular has an amazing formula that warms up to a creamy consistency with the warmth of your finger. I dab it onto the lips and within a few seconds, it turns to a matte powder finish that lasts for hours. I applied it to my lips and the tops of my cheeks for a monochromatic moment that ties in the entire look. A soft romantic look for any occasion.
